The big event of the Basque innovation, was attended by more than 600 Basque companies, among which Abantail was one of them.
After the celebration of the innovation event in the Basque Country, the Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu has started the Innobasque assembly, in which Javier García Sedano, OPTIMITIVE CEO and our General Director Sonia Ortubai made a synthesis of what Global Innovation Day 2018 had given.
The Basque Country is committed to innovation. It needs the companies to be innovative to keep growing and continue to be a competitive and generator of well-being territory. In our country there is one small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) for every ten inhabitants. 200,000 small and medium enterprises that gamble their survival with innovation. In this context, Innobasque dedicated to SMEs the edition of the Global Innovation Day, the showcase for innovation in the Basque Country, which took place for the first time in Donostia on June 13, 2018.
A Global Innovation Day focused on providing answers to SMEs, offering innovative solutions to their current problems and needs, but also on providing inspiration to face new challenges that guarantee a tomorrow.
Conferences, debates and meeting spaces that allowed companies to know the current situation of innovation in the Basque Country and learn from other experiences. But, how can SMEs know in which areas they need to innovate? During the Global Innovation Day there were also workshops in which they were able to identify their specific needs, discover what innovative solutions they can apply, how to do it and on which agents they can count on on their way to innovation.
The Innobasque Innovation Report, published every two years, offers a look at the reality of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation System (SVCTI) from different angles to identify the main points of attention. It consists of a comparative analysis of the situation of innovation with respect to Europe based on existing international statistics. These quantitative analyses are complemented with qualitative information from the Basque Innovation Perception (BIP), a perception study about the current and future situation of Basque R&D&i that gathers the opinion of an expert panel of more than 250 SVCTI professionals that belong to partner organizations of Innobasque, among them Abantail.
It is part of the evaluation and monitoring function that the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (STIP) Euskadi 2020 entrusts to Innobasque.
